DESCRIPTION:photos & prints by Andrea Cacase \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSoft animal is Andrea Cacase’s first solo exhibition featuring photographs and prints from the past few years. Her photography consists of landscapes\, portraits\, and still lifes\, all taken on Polaroid film. The prints are a mix of photo emulsion transfers\, monotypes\, and etchings. \n\n\n\nPoetry is a big source of inspiration for Cacase’s work. The title of the show comes from the Mary Oliver poem Wild Geese. In the poem\, Oliver compares the struggle of the human experience to the natural world’s ability to move along effortlessly. She advices the reader to “let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.” The poem celebrates nature’s grandeur and its ability to remind people\, that even at their lowest moments\, they’re part of something vast and meaningful. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe show also includes a collaborative project with friend and sculptor Tim Bearse entitled Mood of the Mason. Together they created a series of unique site-specific frames to display her images. The piece marries the soft etherial world of Cacase’s photography\, with the rough hard-edged surfaces of woodworking and masonry. It’s a nod to the historic buildings in downtown New Bedford and the ways in which they’ve been restored and repurposed for our contemporary pursuits. \n\n\n\nThe frames were created using various digital fabrication techniques. Twenty locations were selected on the 40 foot rock wall located within the Co-Creative Center. Each location on the wall was then scanned and turned into a 3D model. The 3D models were then used to carve out the rock formations into the backs of 20 wooden blocks using a CNC router. Each frame nestles perfectly into the wall while displaying the various groupings of images. The piece requires the viewer to get up close and personal with each photo and frame to take in their unique shapes and forms.

We will learn about the chakras and use the knowledge obtained in class to move the body in ways that will activate the chakras.  \n\n\n\nThis series is perfect for those wanting to learn more about the chakras or those who are interested in deepening their understanding of the chakras. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis class includes: \n\n\n\n\na presentation on the chakras\n\n\n\nbreathing techniques\n\n\n\nmeditation\n\n\n\nmovement that will awaken and move the energy in the body. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEach Practitioner will leave with take home materials to continue their exploration of the chakras within themselves.  \n\n\n\nSign up for 1 class or for the whole series! Participants can pick and choose which chakras they would like to learn or all seven classes. The workshops are designed to piggyback off of the prior class. They have utilized spoken word poetry\, yoga\, meditation\, reiki\, and the chakra system through their healing journey. They are a poet\, 200hr certified Hatha Yoga teacher\, a certified Reiki I & II practitioner\, a certified holistic health coach and a social activist. Their focus is uplifting the BIPOC/POC and  LGBTQIA+ communities. Their goal is to break through the barriers that prevent BIPOC/POC from participating in these modalities.  \n\n\n\nTheir specialty is using the healing energy of creative expression through spoken word poetry\, meditation\, breathing\, and movement to align the chakras. By harmonizing and uplifting the chakras they hope to create more connection and center in others. They have taught many workshops\, classes\, and have had many private sessions at local studios and public spaces for 6 years. They have collaborated with local gardens\, studios\, and non-profit organizations to bring this vision into a reality.  \n\n\n\nThey have founded the People’s Poetry Slam at the New Bedford Art Museum. A program that allows people from all walks of life a space to perform in a competitive performance style open mic. This program highlights the intersectionality of their work and also highlights the cross generational social justice issues shared between all people creating connection\, community\, and compassion.

DESCRIPTION:7 week introductory series  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChakras for a Vibrant Life is a 7 week series that introduces the chakras system and how they can create more harmony in your life. We will learn about the chakras and use the knowledge obtained in class to move the body in ways that will activate the chakras.  \n\n\n\nThis series is perfect for those wanting to learn more about the chakras or those who are interested in deepening their understanding of the chakras. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis class includes: \n\n\n\n\na presentation on the chakras\n\n\n\nbreathing techniques\n\n\n\nmeditation\n\n\n\nmovement that will awaken and move the energy in the body. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEach Practitioner will leave with take home materials to continue their exploration of the chakras within themselves.  \n\n\n\nSign up for 1 class or for the whole series! Participants can pick and choose which chakras they would like to learn or all seven classes. The workshops are designed to piggyback off of the prior class. To gain full understanding on how the chakras align\, one should attend all seven classes. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClasses are weekly on Mondays April 8th to May 20th\, 5:30pm-7:00pm Full 7 week series – $200\, single class: $30Acceptable payments – Cash\, Zelle\, Venmo\, or Cashapp \n\n\n\n\nRegistration\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAfter registering you will receive a confirmation email for payment and will be added to the roster. Please bring a yoga mat\, water\, and wear comfortable clothing.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMarisol Rosa is a queer/latinx healing artist and poet in the city of New Bedford. Their passion for creativity\, art\, health\, wellness\, activism\, equality\, and yoga led to their devotion in creating a sense of community and unity through self work. They have utilized spoken word poetry\, yoga\, meditation\, reiki\, and the chakra system through their healing journey. They are a poet\, 200hr certified Hatha Yoga teacher\, a certified Reiki I & II practitioner\, a certified holistic health coach and a social activist. Their focus is uplifting the BIPOC/POC and  LGBTQIA+ communities. Their goal is to break through the barriers that prevent BIPOC/POC from participating in these modalities.  \n\n\n\nTheir specialty is using the healing energy of creative expression through spoken word poetry\, meditation\, breathing\, and movement to align the chakras. By harmonizing and uplifting the chakras they hope to create more connection and center in others. They have taught many workshops\, classes\, and have had many private sessions at local studios and public spaces for 6 years. They have collaborated with local gardens\, studios\, and non-profit organizations to bring this vision into a reality.  \n\n\n\nThey have founded the People’s Poetry Slam at the New Bedford Art Museum. A program that allows people from all walks of life a space to perform in a competitive performance style open mic. This program highlights the intersectionality of their work and also highlights the cross generational social justice issues shared between all people creating connection\, community\, and compassion.
