He received a BFA in Graphic Design from the Massachusetts College Of Art and Design. He currently resides in New Bedford Massachusetts with his art studio in Abington Massachusetts at the Arnold Shoe Factory. His first experience with public art was writing his name creatively on abandoned spaces. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn 2014 Cedric and his partner Julia Roth founded The Up Truck\, a mobile art lab designed to engage underserved communities\, Douglas is widely recognized for his large-scale social realism murals and portraits are highly regarded by a broad range of audiences\, and communities. His large-scale murals can be found throughout New England\, from New Bedford Mass\, to Port Au Prince\, Haiti. Douglas’s most recent public art project\, “Street Memorials” takes a hard look at racial injustice and its deadly impact on the black community\, while “The People’s Memorial Project” requires we rethink the future of memorials and monuments in the United States. Douglas’s commitment to the arts is exemplified by his volunteer work. He presently sits on the board and is an active member of multiple Boston-based art organizations including\, The Celebrity Series\, advisory committee\, and\, Mass Creative community engagement advisory committee. \n\n\n\nCo-Creative Sessions is a free and accessible online series geared to enrich\, educate and connect creatives through a series of workshops and training sessions.
