SUMMARY:Rosebud - William Kennedy Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:For the ones who didn’t have a chance to bloom. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWilliam was born in Washington\, DC\, where his creativity started at a young age\, by simply drawing any and everything around him. Going back to his roots\, the streets of DC later became a focus of his art. As a self-taught artist\, he has been a freelance designer and illustrator for the past 10 years. He has most recently\, a little less than a year to be exact\, included Contemporary Painting to his long list of artistic talents\, which has now become his main focus.     A lot of his work focuses on urban culture\, aiming to explore the emotions of life using black figures\, with each piece having its own meaning. He has worked with various artists\, including those in fashion and music\, all over the world.Recent Work:  “The Box They Tried to Put Me In” Collection – exhibited at ‘Brick Lane Gallery’\, London\, England. “Fear to Tread” exhibition at ‘Roger That! Gallery’\, Bristol\, RI. “All Roses Aren’t Red” solo exhibition at the Co-Creative Center\, New Bedford\, MA. \n\n\n\n“The goal isn’t to only get my artwork on people’s walls\, but rather to open doors and show what’s possible to kids that look like me.”

SUMMARY:Co-Creative Sessions: Scott Sullivan Photography
DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, we we will discuss the various components associated with photography & producing high quality composition & work. \n\n\n\n\n\nChange of date: Now November 16\, 2022 \n\n\n\nThis workshop is designed to layout and discuss the concepts of photography. Through the lens of professional photographer\, former pro snowboarder\, surfer\, & lifelong outdoor enthusiast Scott Sullivan we will learn different styles\, techniques\, & composition associated with producing high quality images.  \n\n\n\n\n\nScott will discuss how his work has potentially shifted over the years\, as a travel enthusiast & soulful human being he will be discussing how his different life experiences have shaped his work from a traditional action & extreme sports photographer featured in such high profile catalogues as Surfer Magazine\, Snowboarder Magazine\, Transworld Surf\, Transworld Snow\, Surfline\, Volcom\, Vans\, Quicksilver\, K2 Ski & Snowboarding\, Stabb Magazine\, FuelTV\, & Teton Gravity Research to name a few...to a more conventional approach shifting some of his work away from the extreme sports world.  \n\n\n\nThrough his passions Scott has geared his work towards the extreme sports community. If they are a pro surfer or snowboarder there is a good chance Scott has shot them shooting & working with such figures as Dave Rastovich\, John John Florence\, Travis Rice\, Bjorn Leins\, & Nicolus Mueller to name a few. However\, Scotts real passion is working with others helping them discover their innate & inner artist within.  \n\n\n\nScott is the real deal\, a beautiful person inside and out and we hope you join and enjoy all that he has to offer.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCo-Creative Sessions is a free and accessible online series geared to enrich\, educate and connect creatives through a series of workshops and training sessions. New Bedford is the home of artists\, creatives\, change makers\, designers\, entrepreneurs and community enthusiasts and the Co-Creative Session embraces the pulse that makes New Bedford so unique while expanding our knowledge and connections! \n\n\n\nFunded by MassDevelopment/TDI and the Barr Foundation\, this program is one component of a broader “TDI Creative Cities” initiative to boost arts-based economic development. \n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com/e/scott-sullivan-photography-part-ii-photography-lecture-series-tickets-332209205677\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nScott Sullivan is a professional photographer living in Port Angeles\, Washington. Originally from Rhode Island Scott grew up surfing on the East Coast eventually making his way out west in his late teens.  \n\n\n\nScott\, alongside his wife Natalie and wonderul daughters (Flora & Scarlett) travel the world doing what they love to do – surf\, explore\, & be merry. Prior to living in Port Angeles Scott & his family resided in Encinitas\, CA where they still own a home. In addition to his photography work Scott is an avid musician playing his music throughout the snow & surf communities he has called home for most of his life.

Participants will share their stories and learn to bring these stories to life and discover the applications and settings for Playback Theatre. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCourtesy of Portland Playback Theatre\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStories are how we understand our world\, who we are\, where we have come from\, and what we  may have come through. These moments of our lives can be touchstones\, full of power and significance. They are the glue that holds families\, communities\, and cultures together. In the last 3 years\, we have been tested by  the pandemic and political strife. This is a time of sharing and  coming together to play\, engage and share our stories.  \n\n\n\n\n\nUsing this form of theatre develops intuition\, insight\, creativity\, empathy\, and effective communication skills and is used in many  settings. This workshop is recommended for adults: no theatre  experience is needed. Please wear loose clothing.   \n\n\n\nMasks required. PRE REGISTRATION REQUIRED   \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED \n\n\n\n\nRegister Here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJennie Kristel\, MA\, REAT\, APTT\, RMT is an accredited Playback Theatre Trainer and Registered Expressive and is trained in multiple forms of improvisation theatre and personal storytelling. SUMMARY:Co-Creative Sessions: Writing About Your Own Art
DESCRIPTION:If the title of this workshop makes you tense up\, you are in the right place. Whether creating an exhibition proposal\, artist statement\, grant application or speaking to an interested viewer\, communicating about your art efficiently and authentically can feel completely overwhelming. This workshop will broach the impossible— or at least the daunting and at times tedious. It will open up the writing process as a creative process and make space to generate new channels of understanding. We’ll outline strategies of translating the physical experience of your art into words and also debunk some of the misconceptions surrounding art writing formalities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCo-Creative Sessions is a free and accessible online series geared to enrich\, educate and connect creatives through a series of workshops and training sessions. SUMMARY:Divulgences – Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:I am very interested in trees. Their graceful lines bridge earth and sky\, and at a shrunken scale\, they resemble dendritic nerve cells in our brains and bronchioles in the lungs\, tiny “trees” inside our bodies.  \n\n\n\nRecently I was delighted to learn that trees communicate with each other. Trees partner with fungi to form mycorrhizal connections with their roots\, and this “wood wide web” sends and receives information and shared nutrient resources under the forest floor. They also send signals through the air via chemical messages. Visualizing this shared network fills my mind with thrilling possibilities\, real and imagined. \n\n\n\nMy drawings\, prints\, and paintings explore connections and communications between and within individuals. Landscapes become mindscapes. The divulgences of trees become linked with what we share with each other and how we connect to our ecosystem and our universe. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nButton Text\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrooke Mullins Doherty’s sculptures\, drawings\, and prints have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
