SUMMARY:Co-Creative Sessions: Manifesting your Inner Magic
DESCRIPTION:This workshop will guide participants providing them an opportunity to reflect on personal intentions\,goals & desires. Attendees in this workshop will create a sigil\, a visual emblem\, to represent their intentions and help manifest their goals. This visual symbol will be then be transferred onto a fabric banner kit that will accompany them. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCo-Creative Sessions is a free and accessible online series geared to enrich\, educate and connect creatives through a series of workshops and training sessions. She attended the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth College of Visual and Performing Art\, where she earned a BFA in Sculpture. She went on to earn her MFA from Boston University’s College of Fine Art. Kate has shown her work nationally and is currently in several private collections. She participated and performed in Art in Odd Places: BODY\, an international performance art festival in NYC 2018. And was included in the Cambridge Art Association’s 2019 Emerging Artist Exhibition.  \n\n\n\nKate has been an art educator in public charter schools and art organizations across the Southcoast for the past ten years. Her pedagogy focuses on process\, building strong studio habits within her scholars\, and art history through a lens of inclusion and social justice. When she’s not teaching middle school\, she’s holed up in her studio with a cup of coffee.

College. She continued her postgraduate studies in painting\, ceramics and printmaking at Rhode Island School of Design\, Bennington College and Massachusetts School of Art and Design. After doing freelance illustration and operating a one-woman textile business (Softworks) she became a visual arts teacher (30 years) and department head (8 years) at the Wheeler School in Providence\, RI for much of her professional life. \n\n\n\nWhile at Wheeler Ann Marie received the first Jason and Carly Siperstein Faculty Chair for teaching excellence. She also taught adult students in the Brown University MAT program for 10 years. She currently has returned to her studio practice full time and has won awards and exhibited her work in both group and solo shows in numerous galleries throughout New England. \n\n\n\nAnn Marie is an active member of several art groups including 19 on Paper\, Seekonk Artist Network\, and the Pawtucket Arts Collaborative. DESCRIPTION:Opening Reception\, Thursday\, June 9\, 6PM – 9PM \n\n\n\nHaving a primary job working a desk can be draining\, so\, I began searching for ways to escape the screens. I remembered as a kid taking family trips and the ones that stood out the most were my memories of New Hampshire. I loved being amongst the trees. It filled me with a sense of peace and awe. \n\n\n\nI downloaded an app which displayed a variety of hiking trails all around me and began to explore. Photography soon became a hobby of mine along these little adventures amongst Earth’s beauty. The mushrooms\, little leaves capturing the light just right\, and all other magical wonders that Mother Earth displayed as her works of art became my addiction. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAlong some of these adventures I’d come across abandoned locations covered in greenery\, layers of decay\, and graffiti. The combination of these layers\, textures and greenery inspired the creation of Beasts\, Trees\, Wind and Stone. \n\n\n\nMy name is Chelsea Arruda and I created Rad Future as a reminder to live in the moment. The future we crave is happening right here\, right now\, in this very moment. \n\n\n\nYour Rad Future begins right now.

DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, students will learn the tools of fundamental observation.  \n\n\n\nWe will take a look at how complex forms can be broken down into basic shapes\, learning about measuring tools\, and learn about the world of light and shadow properties to model those forms. We will take a look at other artists works to see how they explored shape\, tone and mark making to capture aspects of their world.  \n\n\n\nStudents will walk away with a small set of completed studies of still life and nature. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCo-Creative Sessions is a free and accessible online series geared to enrich\, educate and connect creatives through a series of workshops and training sessions. New Bedford is the home of artists\, creatives\, change makers\, designers\, entrepreneurs and community enthusiasts and the Co-Creative Session embraces the pulse that makes New Bedford so unique while expanding our knowledge and connections! \n\n\n\nFunded by MassDevelopment/TDI and the Barr Foundation\, this program is one component of a broader “TDI Creative Cities” initiative to boost arts-based economic development. \n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-curious-figure-kat-knutsen-tickets-611474234897\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKat Knutsen is a multimedia fine artist who has collectively worked in the animation industry for 5 years\, mural world for 3 years\, and as a foundations professor teaching visual art + time-based design for 10 years. Her work has always teetered between illustration and fine art. She incorporates metaphors and symbolisms into her work that reflect both micro and macrocosm in her life observations.  \n\n\n\nKat moved to New Bedford MA in 2012 to study her MFA in painting and decided to stay in New Bedford when she saw the opportunity to expand her research through teaching at Bristol Community College.
